CEC Douglas County North is honored to announce that we have been awarded a menstrual product grant from Justice Necessary, a Colorado nonprofit committed to supporting Colorado students. This partnership will help us provide free menstrual products to our students during the summer of 2025 and the 2025–2026 school year, allowing us to meet the first milestone of HB24-1164.
“This grant is incredibly important as it allows CEC Douglas County North to ensure equitable access to essential menstrual products for all students, promoting dignity and health. With this support from Justice Necessary, we can successfully meet the first milestone of HB24-1164 and foster a more inclusive, supportive school environment,” said Sarah Phillips, nurse at CEC Douglas County.

Did you know that 80% of teens in Colorado have missed class due to a lack of period products; and 66% of teens in Colorado have missed opportunities to participate in before/after school activities? By providing free, easy to access period products in school restrooms, we can ensure all our students receive a quality education!
We thank Justice Necessary for their vital support — because education just is necessary.
