The following is the full letter sent out to parents/guardians of CEC Fort Collins students from CEC’s Interim Chief Executive Administrator, Tony Fontana:

————————

CEC is excited to introduce Gordon Boschman as the Interim Head of School for CEC Fort Collins High School, and Cody Pearce as the Interim Assistant Principal at CEC Fort Collins High School.  Gordon and Cody will work closely with current CEC Fort Collins Middle School Head of School Dee Dee Vicino. Gordon and Cody will both join CEC on June 27, 2024.

Gordon Boschman
With 20 years of experience in school leadership at Berthoud High School, Early College Academy, and Niwot High School, Gordon understands the opportunities that CEC’s Early College model offers all students. As a former CEC Fort Collins parent, Gordon recognizes the value of CEC’s individualized approach in working with students and parents/guardians to ensure that all students achieve their career and academic goals. He believes that nothing succeeds like a team of teachers, staff, students, and parents/guardians working together toward a common vision that results in students achieving both their academic and career goals.

Gordon was the founding principal of Early College Academy where he worked in partnership with Greeley-Evans School District 6 and Aims Community College to blend high school and college curricula into a single academic program. During his tenure, Gordon achieved a 100% high school graduation rate and an 85% Associate of Arts degree rate by the fourth year of operation.  As the principal at Berthoud High School, Gordon expanded the school’s concurrent enrollment course offerings and achieved the highest graduation rate and School Performance Framework scores among the district’s high schools. He also established accountable Professional Learning Communities focused on the belief that all students can learn and succeed.

Gordon received his Educational Leadership training at the University of Northern Colorado. He earned a Master of Education in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education, both from the University of Alberta.

“I am excited to join the CEC Fort Collins team and to start working together to advance academic excellence and educational programming for our students. I sincerely desire CEC to be a learning community where each student is cared for, celebrated, and encouraged to explore their strengths and passions.”

Cody Pearce
Cody Pearce brings 13 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal at both middle and high schools to the CEC Fort Collins High School Interim Assistant Principal position. Cody is joining CEC from Sierra Sands Unified School District. During his 8 year tenure as an assistant principal, Cody was responsible for school culture, curriculum, athletics, activities, testing, career technical education(CTE), student discipline, and much more. Cody has been part of a robust CTE program where he collaborated with his team, the school district, and the local community college to bring opportunities for his students to complete college classes while attending high school.

Cody earned a Master of Educational Leadership and a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential from California Lutheran University and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge. Cody currently holds a Clear Teaching Credential in California and Colorado as well as a Clear Administrative/ Principal Credential in both states.

“I am a high energy, positive educator who strives to build positive relationships with students and staff to create the best learning and working environments for all. Every student should feel welcomed at their school and help create a family like community. It is all of our responsibilities to work together to develop each student into the best person they can be academically and as a citizen.  I believe that every student can be successful in their educational path and in life. I am excited to join the CEC Fort Collins team.”
