CEC Aurora Alumni Spotlight: Paralympic Champion Malik Jones

CEC Aurora is proud to celebrate one of our remarkable alumni, Malik Jones, whose journey from our classrooms to the global stage continues to inspire students, staff, and the entire Aurora community. As a graduate of CEC Aurora, Malik embodies the resilience, courage, and excellence that define the spirit of our school.

From CEC Aurora to Team USA

While attending CEC Aurora, Malik cultivated not only academic discipline but also the drive and determination that would fuel his athletic career. His education at CEC Aurora is highlighted in his official Team USA athlete biography, which proudly lists CEC Aurora as part of his foundational journey. [teamusa.com]

Malik became the second Black athlete to represent the United States in sled hockey at the Paralympic Games, debuting at the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, where he helped lead Team USA to gold.

His competitive resume continues to grow, including:

  • Gold medal, 2022 Paralympic Games
  • Gold medals at the 2023 and 2025 World Championships
  • Silver medal at the 2024 World Championship
  • Named to the 2026 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, marking his second Paralympic appearance
