CEC In The News: CEC Aurora and Douglas County Staff Members Nominated for Colorado League of Charter Schools’ Hall of Fame!

Congratulations to Hannah Reese, CEC Aurora Head of School; Alfredo Beltran Aguirre, CEC Aurora Director of Innovation; Tara Hedberg, CEC Parker Theater Teacher; and Sharla Butkovich, CEC Parker Parent, for their nominations to the Colorado League of Charter Schools’ Hall of Fame!

The Colorado League of Charter Schools’ annual Hall of Fame is a joyous celebration honoring members, leaders, and supporters who have significantly contributed to the charter school movement. 

Hannah Reese has been nominated for Charter School Leader of the Year. The Charter School Leader of the Year Award recognizes an individual directly involved with leading a charter school. Nominees demonstrate significant influence in developing or maintaining a charter school, improving school accountability and performance, or driving other aspects of school excellence.

Alfredo Beltran Aguirre and Tara Hedberg have both been nominated for Charter School Educator of the Year. The Charter School Educator of the Year Award recognizes a charter school educator who is exceptionally dedicated to closing the achievement gap and preparing students for success. Nominees demonstrate a superior ability to ignite students’ passion for learning and spearhead collaborative efforts to prioritize student success within their charter school community. 

Sharla Butkovich has been nominated for Charter School Advocate of the Year. The Advocate of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated significant influence in the public policy arena. Nominees may be working in advocacy, policy, organizing or other areas which grows, supports or protects the charter school movement.
