Alejandra Juarez, CEC Aurora Academic Dean, had the honor of presenting at the ACTE CareerTech Vision Conference in Tennessee, a national gathering of educators and industry leaders dedicated to advancing career and technical education.
Her presentation was entitled “Empowering First-Generation Students in Career Tech Education” at the ACTE CareerTech Vision conference in Tennessee.”
“Presenting this topic was giving a voice to the first-generation students at CECA who have challenges along their education and get labeled a certain way due to their background,” Juarez said. “I felt honored to share the amazing strategies that are implemented at CECA for first-generation students to succeed in their career pathways and associate’s degrees.”
