Alejandra Juarez, CEC Aurora Academic Dean, had the honor of presenting at the ACTE CareerTech Vision Conference in Tennessee, a national gathering of educators and industry leaders dedicated to advancing career and technical education.
Her presentation was entitled “Empowering First-Generation Students in Career Tech Education” at the ACTE CareerTech Vision conference in Tennessee.”
“Presenting this topic was giving a voice to the first generation students at CECA who have challenges along their education and get labeled a certain way due to their background,” Juarez said. “I felt honored to share the amazing strategies that are implemented at CECA for first generation students to succeed in their career pathways and associates degrees.”
