Director of Academic & Career Advising
Wendy Rhodes joined the CEC team in 2017 working at Colorado Early College Aurora. As the Director of Academic and Career Advising, Wendy incorporates her experience and passion in workforce development to support students in discovering their strengths, interests and skills to be better prepared for college and the workforce. Wendy has worked in career development for over 10 years and has worked with a variety of individuals and groups of all ages, from helping high school students apply to their first job to supporting adults re-entering the workforce who have faced barriers such as homelessness, incarceration and mental illness. Wendy has taught workshops to both small and large groups on over 30 topics such as Resume Writing, Career Exploration, Etiquette, and Degree ROI. She is a Strengths Finder Coach and certified Myers Briggs Administrator and enjoys working with students in helping them learn more about who they are and how they relate to the world around them. She is a First Generation college student and believes in supporting students at each step who are working on their Associate degree or certificate program while at Colorado Early Colleges. She also enjoys learning how technology will impact the future of the workforce and higher education and how to prepare our students for what’s ahead. Wendy holds a BA in Religious Studies at Benedictine College and an MA in Counseling Psychology at Regis University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and will earn her license in School Counseling in 2020.
