Today, we pay tribute to an individual who dedicated their life to the service of others, Colorado Early Colleges Founder Keith King. King had a long and successful career in education, business, and politics.
King was elected to the Colorado State House of Representatives from 1999 to 2007, to the Colorado State Senate from 2009 to 2013, and to the Colorado Springs City Council from 2013 to 2017. From his very first session in the House, he sponsored many bills to improve charter school structures, operations, and finances.
More than a legislator, in 2007, he founded Colorado Early Colleges in Colorado Springs, and his vision for CEC expanded from one campus to additional campuses in Fort Collins, Parker, and Aurora.
