Everything Families Need to Know Before Enrolling Early for 2026–2027
Deciding where your student will go to middle or high school is a big decision. At Colorado Early Colleges (CEC), we make enrollment simple, and we’re excited to welcome new families! Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year opens November 1, 2025, so here’s everything you need to know.
How the Enrollment Process Works
CEC’s enrollment process is designed to be straightforward and supportive:
- Complete the Application. Parents/guardians fill out the online application form (e.g., “Enroll 2026-27”): https://coloradoearlycolleges.org/enroll/
- Acceptance. Once reviewed, families receive an acceptance email with details on activating the Parent Portal and completing the next steps.
- Online Registration. Complete the required registration forms. After confirmation, you’ll receive scheduling, course advising, and placement testing details.
- Connect with Our Team. Families meet with CEC staff to finalize class schedules, ask questions, and get ready for the first day of school.

Frequently Asked Questions
What grade levels does CEC serve?
CEC offers middle school (grades 6–8), high school (grades 9–12), and homeschool enrichment (K–12), depending on location. \Get more information and guidelines on CEC Senior Transfer Student Information.
Who can enroll at CEC?
Any Colorado resident in grades 6–12 (depending on campus grade levels). There are no district boundaries and no entrance exams. CEC is open to every learner.
Is there a cost to attend CEC?
No. CEC is a tuition-free, public charter school. We cover the cost of college tuition for all approved courses, as well as required textbooks. Families never pay to enroll or attend; however, there are minimal student fees annually.
Will my student still have a traditional high school experience?
Yes! CEC students enjoy clubs, extracurricular activities, and sports (through local district partnerships or campus-based opportunities). We host events like dances, Spirit Weeks, and more.
Is transportation provided?
Yes. Every CEC campus offers bus transportation. Route details are available directly through each school.
What makes CEC different from other schools?
CEC is built around one significant difference: students can earn free college credits, industry certifications, and even associate degrees before graduating from high school. Our graduates leave prepared for college and career success, without the burden of college debt.
What if my student isn’t ready for college classes yet?
No problem. CEC provides academic support, placement assessments, and personalized learning plans. Every student has a pathway that matches their readiness.
When should we apply?
As early as possible. The sooner you apply and complete your registration (beginning November 1), the sooner your student can be scheduled for advising and class selection. Early enrollment also helps secure a spot before campuses fill up.
How will we know if my student is accepted?
CEC sends acceptance offers by email to the address provided in your application.
Do we need to reapply every year?
No. Once enrolled, your student will continue with CEC through graduation, unless you choose to relocate or withdraw.
What is the Refer-A-Friend program?
Families can earn up to $100 in gift cards for every new student they refer through our Refer-A-Friend (RAF) Program. Forms will be available in early November, so check our website for details.
